Lexus 2012 Models to Raise Benchmark on Luxury Offerings in the UAE

 

"Al-Futtaim Motors, exclusive distributors of Lexus in the UAE, has announced the arrival of the much anticipated 2012 models which are expected to raise the benchmark for luxury automobile offerings in the UAE. 

Focusing on engaging the senses of its customers and appealing to a young and new generation, Lexus’s new 2012 model range demonstrates the brand’s shift from its traditional attributes of luxurious refinement to a real focus on sharper style and emotional appeal. 

Saud Abbasi, General Manager Al-Futtaim Motors-Lexus, said, “These are exciting times for Lexus. The arrival of the model year 2012 range is expected to garner positive responses from new as well as existing customers in the UAE. The strength of Lexus lies in the way leading edge technology and finesse have been matched together to make the driving experience as captivating as possible, and our customers appreciate that”. 

He added, “We are highly optimistic about the demand these cars will generate in the coming months. In addition to presenting this exciting new line-up, we will be unveiling new much-awaited models later this year.” 

The MY12 models which will be available in the UAE in October include the CT, IS, LS, RX, GX and ES. 

The 2012 Lexus models are inspired by the L-finesse philosophy and certain models even get the muscular edge with the optional sports package. The IS 250 and the IS 300 models receive an optional sportier appearance package while the GX 460 transitions into 2012 with many enhanced sport front and rear appearance features. Facebook Interview with Lexus GS Chief Engineer Yoshihiko Kanamori

 

"As part of the Frankfurt Auto Show, Lexus Europe put out the call on Facebook for questions to ask the GS Chief Engineer, Yoshihiko Kanamori. The resulting interview has now been posted — here’s a sampling:"

Sebastian Hoeffelman: I really love the new more sportive design. But how did u manage to make the car more sportive and also more luxury at the same time? It must have been a great challenge to find the right balance these two!

GS Chief Engineer, Yoshihiko Kanamori: Luxury always forms the basis of Lexus cars. However, our aim in designing the new GS was to express sportiness too. Vital to realizing a luxurious yet sporty silhouette was a wide stance, that we achieved through a wider track and wider wheel arches. Also, the spindle grille and the resolute-looking headlamps contribute to achieving an emotional yet sporty front face, which leads the way for the next generation of Lexus cars.

Nadija Kirpa: Hey, Lexus Europe – I’ve got question about the entire design of Lexus – why all forms and shapes become so “sportivly agressive”?

Yoshihiko Kanamori: We know from research that our customers want cars that are dynamic and fun-to-drive. So obviously we wanted these owners to feel excited at the very first glimpse of their new sedan. Here the sporty silhouette and emotional new face make the new GS much more emotional and distinctive than the current model.

Ready to Serve

"And now for a tale of superb customer service, Lexus style.

Early one day back in July, Jon Heffernan, a service consultant at Lexus of Tacoma, received a call from Lexus owner Dr. Joel Mitchell, who was scheduled for a maintenance appointment later in the morning.

The reason for the call: Dr. Mitchell wished to alert Lexus of Tacoma that he was running late due to a flat tire on the freeway (no fun, been there).

No doubt Dr. Mitchell’s next move would have been to contact Lexus Roadside Assistance or start changing that tire, but we’ll never find out because of what Heffernan did next.

You see, after hearing of Dr. Mitchell’s predicament, Heffernan instantly took it upon himself to personally coordinate Dr. Mitchell’s roadside help. He also sent a Lexus diagnostic specialist, Bob Drake, to drop off a service loaner and stay with Dr. Mitchell’s vehicle until assistance arrived.

This allowed Dr. Mitchell to get to his job at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Puget Sound Health Care System at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle.

And as it turns out, Heffernan’s actions helped out more than a Lexus owner that day: Because Dr. Mitchell was able to get to the office, he didn’t miss a single patient appointment, which meant 18 combat veterans (recently back from Iraq and Afghanistan) got their post-combat exams, family-care support, and mental health care without any disruption or rescheduling.

A grateful Dr. Mitchell put it this way to Lexus: “In essence, your team enabled me to do my job in serving our nation’s veterans.”

Of course, to Heffernan, Drake, and the rest of Lexus’ customer-care personnel around North America, this is all just Lexus’ standard approach to taking care of Lexus drivers.
